I was in the mood for a relic hunt this morning so I made a contact yesterday afternoon and secured permission to hunt an old farm not far from a Rev War site. I took my father in law and we trudged down through the woods on some old logging roads till we found a spot that looked promising. We hunted for about 3 hours and I dug several modern shotgun shells, nails, 22 casings, 38 casing, a belt buckle of some kind and a MUSKET BALL! Yeeeeaaaahhh!!!   Can ya tell I like digging those? This is my second one so I really like finding them. Didn't find any buttons but maybe someday. Photos attached of todays take. (I see I put the wrong date on the paper....I'm always a day late and a dollar short!)

Cool finds!  Question for you...how can you tell a musket ball was fired?

I think that buckle is the find of the day. Ask Frank B. about it. It looks like an old one to me. Good pics. Thanks

Nice musket ball, Kurt.  The belt buckle is cool too.  Congrats on your finds.
