There is a small Jewelry shop at 320 South Tryon in the Latta Arcade that specializes in repairs . Daniel Miller will appraise an repair your finds and in my case tell you that the big Diamond is really CZ Sad  . He has an old Whites 6000 and likes to talk treasure hunting ,has a few dozen coins in the show case to look at . Check him out.
