In August 2004 I recovered these two Artillery Corps 1-piece cuff buttons at a heavily hunted 1812 era campsite in Southport N.C.

Ian,
The eagle button has a star pattern around the back rim but neither button has a backmark. I have identifided both buttons as War of 1812 using Albert's "Record of American Uniform and Historical Buttons"in which they are listed.

Thanks,
Steve

Thanks Steve,

I was wondering about the button on the right. I found a cuff button like that was VERY worn and it didn't have a backmark either.

Hey Steve,

Here's mine. As you can tell, it's very worn but you can make out the cannon wheel and part of the eagle...
