How does the DFX do with silver? I haven't found much thus far. What can I do to improve my chances?

The DFX does great with silver; makes a nice high tone that you can't mistake for anything else if you have Tone ID turned on.

If you are using one of the pre-programmed settings, like Coins, I would suggest you increase your pre-amp to 3 or 4 and adjust your AC setting as high as it will go and still remain stable.

If you want to do a custom setting, send me an email and I will forward Dave Z's program to you. I use it almost all the time with all my coils.

Thanks, i'll try that the next time I'm out with my DFX. Would like to maybe get togather and take our DFX's out and you could give me a couple of pointers.

Thanks again

Sure thing. I'm available evenings and weekends, but will be out of town 9/27 - 10/9.

Ahhh...I love vacation! Smile

Het Tioga; I tried your suggestions and it helped a lot. I'll get with you on the Dave Z offer. Thanks again.

At our last hunt I used my GTI 2500 at first, then later I got out my DFX and made some ajustments as suggested. I'm getting better at this detector. I like it, plus it is so lite.

The more you use it, the better it gets. You just have to like fiddling with settings. Very Happy

When I get a chance, I'll e-mail you Dave Z's custom settings.

tRY 3 KHZ FOR SILVER also raise preamp to 3 or 4 use vco and mixed mode with tone id goes very deep for me,turn off modulation you can also try to raise sens on meter and sens for unit,do not use high discrimination try to start with a low disc program like jewelry or set it yourself like reject up to + 2 accept up to 94 reject 95,get jefffosters book a great book. Henry, you know all you have to do is pick up the phone and call me.  We can meet up any weekend and go over the DFX from top to bottom, including programs, custom programs and finding the good stuff!
