A couple of cool finds today.I got out for a few hours late this afternoon and found a couple of interesting items. Not alot of value but non then less had the heart pumping till I got them home and cleaned.
The ring is a Junior Fire Marshall Ring manufactered by the Hartford Insurance Company back in the 50's and 60's. They were given to school kids when the local fire departments visited the schools.
The token is some kind of commerative honoring the Battle of Fort McHenry in Baltimore , Md. The front side is embossed with the fort. The back side says : Star Spangled Banner By Francis Scott Key Inspired By The Bombardment of Fort McHenry September 14, 1814.
Also ended up with some clad, a 51D and 46 wheatie.
It was good to get out and enjoy the weather and the hunt!

Its amazing to see all the stuff folks have lost, do you think it could have been on a key chain?

Roostertale,
I'm not sure if it could have been on a key ring. Maybe a necklace or a ribbon like a medal. It's about the same size as a large cent. This was found at an old school that was shut down in the 60's where my wife went when she was in the 1st thru 5th grade. (we're in our 50's now) I showed the items to her and she said for me to be sure to go behind the school to where the playground was and see if I could find a Citizenship medal she was presented with. Says she won it for as a representative for the whole school, then lost it on the playground. If someone didn't carry it off, it should still be there. Will have to keep searching.

Nice finds. Finding personal stuff like that is always neat. Makes you wonder how disappointed the kid who lost it was.
