A new toy to play with.....Well, after much debate and trying this and that I picked up a used Minelab Explorer II with a Sunray probe. I have been in search of a worthy back up to my DFX.
I tried many machines, as many of you know. All were quality machines, but I either didn't like the feel, the sound, response or accessory selection. So I will give the Explorer a try.
I have been playing with it this evening and so far, I like it. I like the feel, a little heavy, but not too bad, I like the sound so far, and I am playing with the options, reading a few books and watched a few videos. I will bring it to the club hunt Saturday and use both the DFX and the Explorer to compare them.
The down side. I had to sell my White's Beach Hunter ID to pay for the Explorer. So I will buy another underwater machine, but it will have to wait a few months and it probably won't be as expensive of a machine as the BHID. (Which kinda stinks, the BHID is an awesome water machine).
