Labor Day Morning Hunt- No silver, but....I was in the mood for a relic hunt this morning so I made a contact yesterday afternoon and secured permission to hunt an old farm not far from a Rev War site. I took my father in law and we trudged down through the woods on some old logging roads till we found a spot that looked promising. We hunted for about 3 hours and I dug several modern shotgun shells, nails, 22 casings, 38 casing, a belt buckle of some kind and a MUSKET BALL! Yeeeeaaaahhh!!! Can ya tell I like digging those? This is my second one so I really like finding them. Didn't find any buttons but maybe someday. Photos attached of todays take. (I see I put the wrong date on the paper....I'm always a day late and a dollar short!)

Cool finds! Question for you...how can you tell a musket ball was fired?

I think that buckle is the find of the day. Ask Frank B. about it. It looks like an old one to me. Good pics. Thanks
