Spent Saturday with the Maryland Artifact Recovery Society (MARS)at their 2009 Open Hunt. http://marylandartifactrecoverysociety.org/ They had a nice setup on the shore of Sandy Point State Park.
I did not participate in their hunt which consisted of coins, tokens and bills in plastic tubes (with some metal in the tubes).
They did have several activities such as guess the target (various items under frisbees), a poker run (52 maked pennies in an area , the best "hand" won) and a best depth area (quarters and 4, 6, 8 inches), the winner was at 16 inches I think.
I scanned the rest of the beach area and found 4 tent spikes and 4 batteries. Also a surprising number of nuts and bolts.
Clad included 2 pennies and a nickel. But the surprise find was a 2005 Cayman Island quarter I found at the beach vollyball area.
All in all it was a nice day. Glad to be out in the cool air again.

WTG John, I'm glad you got back with a club there in Baltimore. Looks like a pretty area to hunt on the water there. Please post up any good finds....HH...CJ

I like the different activities that were at their open hunt. We could incorporate them and others into our annual seeded hunt event to make it even more fun.
