New SEF Coil Ordered TodayI finally decided to break the wallet and order the 10 X 12 SEF coil for the MXT today. I called Tony at Kellyco and placed the order. Hopefully it will be here by the weekend. The online reviews for this coil have been very favorable. Are there any other MDAC members that have used this particular coil and are you pleased with it? I am sure that I'll have questions on how to properly use it and would be interested in your experiences.

Congrats...... I have been using the SEF for a while, and it is hands down by far the best coil ever made. I would be more than happy to help you out with it once you get it.

I have the 10x12 SEF for my DFX and have been so pleased with it that I sold my Bigfoot and Super 12 coils. The target separation is so good that I haven't been using my 5x7 DD coil very much either.

I'm looking forward to the arrival, hopefully on Thursday. Joe, Thanks for the offer of assistance. Any special instructions I need to know about before hooking up the coil to the MXT or is it plug and play and see what I find? It will probably take a little while to tweak...just need to practice in the yard with coins and jewerly and fine tune the technique.

No special "hook up" instrucitons, but you MUST sweep this coil SLOOOOOOOW to get it's full depth and target ID performance.

The SEF arrived today and I got it mounted on the MXT. Ran a few practice laps throught the backyard today to get the feel of the new coil. I passed over areas that I had already detected with the stock coil and got hits at 8 and 12 inches. Of course it was only clad pennies. So far I'm impressed with the increased sensitivity and it definitely goes deeper. I picked up a double beep signal in an area where the stock coil gave one beep and dug up two clad pennies. I like the SEF so far.
