Swimming Hole Finds TodayResearched local maps about a site that was an old swimmimg lake back in the 60's,70's and 80's. Yes, I frequented it quite often during the mid to late 60's. Anyway, I did a GIS search and found the owner, called them and received permission to hunt the site today. The pool had been closed back in the mid 80's and was drained within the last few years. Heavy weeds have grown up in it basically everywhere, but there was enough short grass to swing a coil over. Me and Shane hunted it for about 3 hours after work today and I've posted a list of my finds below along with a photo. I would have thought there would have been an abundance of silver coins there but it just didn't happen. I sorta feel like someone may have hit the place before us but we still pulled over 100 coins out of there today so it's doubtful. Plus with the big weeds and high grass in our way, we probably only scratched the surface of the place. Shane did find one 1961 Rosie Dime and I pulled a decent silver St Christopher pendant from the lake bed.
Anyway, it was a great "hot" time hunting today and only saw one snake. Thankfully,he was heading in the opposite direction that I was.
Here' a list of my finds:

Congrats on the nice hunt! I think I would have to go back to that spot when the weeds die out.
Good job on the silver St Christopher pendant. A nice hunt all the way round, Beale.
