What does .970 stamped into a ring mean?

Hi folks,
Can anyone tell me what .970 stamped into a ring means?
I assume it represents the type of metal the ring is made of but I can't seem to find any info about it.
Thanks,

It indicates fine silver, with a higher silver content than sterling silver, which is .925.

.970 is more resistant to tarnish and has a whiter hue than sterling silver.

Nice find!  Very Happy
